Biography
Paige Beresford is a freelance Multimedia Reporter who lives in the UK and works for The Herald and Glasgow Evening Times group as well as BBC Sport Scotland's radio and online team. Born in Scotland, Paige is now a university graduate after achieving her 2:1 (BA) Honours degree in Multimedia Journalism at Edinburgh Napier University in July.

As per her job role in BBC Scotland, Paige regularly works across a variety of different departments. For two years, she was the Back-Up Producer for BBC Radio Scotland’s Sportsound and has previously worked on Off the Ball, Jazz Line-Up, and Call Kaye. She also worked as a Production Management Assistant in BBC Sport and in CBBC, working on the children’s TV show All Over the Place. She also worked on The Truth About Looking Good, The Truth About Crash Diets and The Truth About Obesity documentaries for BBC Studios.

During 2018, Paige worked on-and-off as an Awards Co-ordinator for BBC Scotland’s part in the BAFTA Scotland Awards, Celtic Media Festival awards and
the Royal Television Society awards. Whilst doing this she was the BBC Sport Scotland Commissioning Scheduler and Planner.

In 2018, Paige created and designed her own magazine called Etcetera which got published and distributed around Glasgow. The magazine was about ordinary people doing extraordinary things that don't get noticed because our attentions are drawn elsewhere. With the message "every ordinary person has an extraordinary story to tell," Etcetera received high praise.

She is also a Production Runner and has been since 2014, having worked on Sports Personality of the Year Awards, BBC Proms in the Park, The Royal National Mòd as well as many election nights, Children in Need events and the Royal Highland Show. In addition to this, she was a Production Co-ordinator for the BBC Music at the Quay festival.

Whilst studying, Paige is a freelance Sports Columnist for many online sport publications including Pure Fitbaw and BackPage Football, writing analysis and opinion pieces. She has also previously written for sports publications The Boot Room, Well On Paper, Eye Football and Sport ENRG.

She has also been an Arts Journalist for The Scottish Sun, where she interviewed bands and artists (including The Amazons and JONES) and wrote music and concert reviews. She wrote for The Scots Reviewer where she reviewed music and concerts, theatre productions and films.

Paige has also had numerous stories published in Impulse Magazine‘s 2017 edition and had her story about visiting the site for the new St Kilda centre was published on Visit Scotland.
​
In addition to this she is the proud blogger of her site PageByPaige, where she reviews books and interviews authors. Paige is also the founder and main writer of a website called Classic Culture. she is also the co-founder and main writer of a football publication called Press Box to Penalty Box that she created.

In 2016, Paige worked as a journalist and blogger for DigIt!2017 alongside games company Immersive Minds and travelled over to Stornoway to cover a series of events taking place for World Heritage Day.
​
In 2015, Paige was a part of the BBC Scotland Apprenticeship Scheme and worked in radio, TV and online content across 10 different departments such as Sport, Children’s, Learning, News, Gaelic and Media Central. During this time, she was the Producer of (as well as researched and presented) a BBC short film called Being Me at the BBC.
​
This is also where she developed her enthusiasm and skills in radio; editing packages, creating podcasts and working in content production for both music and topical radio shows. As a steadfast and keen learner, Paige took this opportunity to work as part of production teams. She recorded voiceovers for Sportscene as well as directed, filmed and edited an advert for Glasgow Kelvin College.

After developing her talent and passion for writing since 2013, Paige was a Journalist during the 2014 Commonwealth Games for a company called Future News, who published over 50 of her articles in two weeks. She was also published in The Evening Times after conducting an interview with Lord Jack McConnell, and then in The Herald for her feature article about rugby. It was during this time she was titled Glasgow’s Young Journalist and was interviewed by Young Scot.

In 2014, Paige hosted and presented the Determined to Make Movies Award Ceremony and had two of her articles published in STV. She was also Cineworld’s first ever guest blogger and reporter, where she interviewed Australian astrophysicist, Dr. Jonathan Whitmore, whilst he was touring with his film, Hidden Universe. Cineworld and the Glasgow Science Centre both went on to publish her report.

In 2013, when she was in her final year, Paige arranged to have Lord McConnell visit her high school, Bannerman High, as part of a Livingstone Assembly. Being an enthusiastic opportunist, she then interviewed Lord McConnell after the event and the interview was later published in Shout It magazine. In the same year she also recorded demos at Clyde 1 as part of their Scottish Media Academy multiple times.

Paige has recently had more opportunities to travel, which has allowed her to broaden her writing and creative skills by introducing her to travel feature writing. She has also developed a better understanding for politics, so that she can pursue comment and analysis articles.
​
Paige is currently working towards achieving her shorthand qualification, which she hopes to attain by the end of 2020.
